Porlock Wassail Day - and a new 'Mummers Play'

Come to Porlock Wassail and parade through the village, wassailing at the orchards and ending at the Community Orchard. Meet at Porlock Visitor Centre. Followed by a newly written 'Mummers Play' at The Dovery Manor Solar. Bring saucepan lids, drums, and anything else that makes a noise!

Exmoor Society - Porlock Group - Archeological Field Trip

Simonsbath revealed - Recent archeological work in Simonsbath is revealing how the village was developed including the building of a great mansion never completed, the gardens of which are only now being uncovered. A walk led by ENP staff will explain the story of the village and the results of the current research. There may also be a chance to visit the Sawmill. Optional lunch beforehand at the Exmoor Forest Inn

A visit to Cotleigh's Brewery at Wiveliscombe. Following a provided light lunch, there will be a guided tour of the Brewery, after which there will be an optional led walk around the village.

Smugglers Run

Teams of smugglers try to evade and outwit the excisemen while carrying barrels across Porlock Marsh! Fun for all - spectators and participants - fancy dress optional. The teams will leave the Top Ship in Porlock at noon and finish up at the Bottom Ship in Porlock Weir.
