As you approach this charming village and look up, you will see a castle on the hill that looks like it came straight from the pages of a fairy story. In the village centre, cobbled streets remain, and an iconic Yarn Market stands proudly at the top of the High Street. The village dates back to 700 A.D. and has a fascinating history, with the castle built as a motte and bailey during the Norman conquest. It became a stunning family home purchased by the Luttrell family in 1404, and generations resided there for over 600 years.
